Traveling among different cities at an early age, Roman became fascinated by the fleeting moments of the beams that shine into the train. As a visually driven person, he has dedicated his career to capturing the emotion behind the camera.

He received systematic training at the Beijing Film Academy. He then pursued a master's degree in Cinematography at Chapman University, studying the arts and crafts of becoming a visual storyteller under the mentorship of Bill Dill, ASC, and Johnny E. Jensen, ASC.

Roman has worked as a freelance cinematographer for narratives and commercials. A firm believer in mutual collaboration and well-polished visual craft, Roman has earned his reputation in the industry. He has participated in ten feature projects and one TV series as a Director of Photography.

As he navigates the next stage of his journey as a cinematographer with his unique “pen” that paints light and shapes shadow, Roman is passionate about exploring diverse approaches to bring out the story authentically through his lens.

Roman Jiang is currently based in Shanghai and would love to travel whenever the opportunity arises.
